Three talented and amazing singers started the night on American Idol, but one of them had to leave the competition after 90 million votes were cast last night by public viewers.
Who made the Final 2? Who went home tonight?
Million jaws dropped to the floor Thursday night as Joshua ‘Mantasia’ Ledet got voted off ‘American Idol.’ Days before the Idol finale, but unfortunately, this 19-year-old church singer shockingly voted out – with Phillip Phillips and Jessica Sanchez competing for the victory.
On Wednesday, Top 3 finalists took on multiple themes allowing them to perform a song of their own choice and the others were judges and Jimmy Iovine’s pick. Joshua performed Etta James’ ‘I’d Rather Go Blind’ (Randy’s pick), ‘No More Drama’ by Mary J Blige picked by Jimmy, and ‘Imagine’ by John Lennon as his personal choice.
The night’s guest performers included runner-up Adam Lambert and Lisa Marie Presley.

Now we’re down to two. It’s Sanchez vs Phillips. Are these finalists evenly matched? Who will be crowned American Idol 2012 winner on May 23?

i'm not sure about joshua being successful, after all the standing ovations during thus season, he still didnt win the audience votes to be in the finale. he's even in bottom 3 couple of times. and there's never any expression of interest to sign him from record producers despite rave reviews of his performances. even jimmy had mentioned from start he's willing to sign jessica and phillip on the spot from start of season. i think jessica and phillip may not be as good performers as joshua but that can b thought. but joshua is not as vocally talented as phillip and jessica which is innate. with good training, their performances are still something to look forward to whereas for josh, we've seen what he can do.
Just so in shock...but i had 2 favorites...I was sure they would go head to head...but as america voted..We will have to live with that...now i have to focus all my attention to jessica...she is the next idol and i have a feeling that Joshua will probably be one of the most celebrated and successful contestants yet...His future is set in stone...I predict offers on the table well into his future....He's already Made it....WATCH AND SEE...I JUST CANT WAIT TO BUY HIS ALBUMS..

I was shocked to see Joshua go. Philipp really doesn't have much of a voice, very limited, can't hit many notes and always sounds the same. You could see the strain in his face whenever he had to hit a note that was out of his comfort zone. I could've sworn Jessica and Joshua would be the finalists..nevertheless, I am SURE that Joshua has a great career in front of him. IF by any wild chance Philipp wins (which to me would be a total shocker) i don't see him making it big in the music business although he does resemble joe cocker quite a bit and Joe made it big but do we need another Joe Cocker ? Again..Philipp is incapable of hitting notes and in the long run people will get tired of hearing him.
@hny4jc. You are absolutely right. I don't feel satisfaction with pp during hes performance last night. Sorry to say, but it is far better joshua than pp. America voted wrong. for sure he gonna end up nowhere his career. was thingking jessica & joshua in the finale very competitor in a quality of voice and they are really match. I hope joshua & jessica gonna make a concert together coz i heard and watch them they have chemestry in each voice.Its amazing! I watched also pp & joshua sing together but pp is in behind of joshua voice i don't hear it, but joshua coverd him. Goodluck joshua i know you can be a succesful ballader. All the way jessica, kick his ass!!!
I was in shock that joshua was voted off! He had the strongest and best voice of the 3. He didnt scream or screech as sm ppl have said in thngs ive read on the net. Im sure teens voted 4 phillip, and i thnk it america is racist. Seems 2me white america voted, its unfair, joshua had great voice, his voice gave me goosebumps, i loved every song he sang, ppl say his voice wasnt marketable. I say he had the best voice out of the 3, and he didnt have that sameness that boring type of voice that u hear so much of on the radio 2day. I believe he will be successful wo amer idol, and hs music will outsell the final 2! Hes by far the best, and i wish him the best of luck! U go joshua! Im lookn 4ward 2 buying his cds! And, america, u got it wrong!

it was really shocking but that's the reality..Joshua is good but up to what extent? he just do same thing every week..very predictable that in every song of him he would shout..nothing new and quite annoying..don't get me wrong but if we talk about talent and magical way? it's Jessica Sanchez! charm and talent as well that's also Philip Philips...
