Phillip Phillips Holds Off Kidney Surgery Until Season 11 Winner is Chosen

Phillip Phillips is in desperate need of kidney surgery that’s why he wasn’t forced to appear and missed some of the Ford commercials.

His doctor urging him to get surgery NOW to treat a chronic kidney stone ailment. According to a report by TMZ, the Georgia native’s kidney problems have gotten worse since March, (remember when he was rushed to the hospital for severe abdominal pain and almost missed one result show episode). Though experts have advised he seek help immediately, Phillips has chosen to hold off until the Season 11 winner is chosen on Wednesday.

Phillip Phillips — one of the finalists on “American Idol” — has been URGED by his personal doctor to get surgery immediately … but Phillip wants to work through the pain and the risk so he can win next week.

Multiple “Idol” sources tell us … when Phillip went back home to Georgia last Saturday … his family doctor spent almost the entire stay by his side and was alarmed by what he saw — Phillip wasn’t eating and looked horrible.

According to reports, he had undergone five kidney stone removal procedures since October of last year. The singer was also hospitalized in January for a similar condition.
