With “All Cried Out,” Kree showcases that she’s ready to be a Country music star. The song, which was written by Gordie Sampson, Katrina Elam and Steve McEwan, is both lyrically and melodically country like some of Carrie Underwood’s most-powerful ballads.

Candice Glover, who has auditioned for the show three times in a row, can already hear the studio version of her new song. The song is a co-write with with Jaden Michaels and Joleen Belle. and produced by John Locke (the drummer in the Glee jazz band!) and Roahn Hylton.

I hope her career doesn’t go the way of Melanie Amaro. The song was just OK, not liking the production. Listen for yourself below.

It was a night of tears & cheers, stars & cars, of jams, gams & comedic hams. Memories, harmonies & celebrities abound, as the American Idol Season 12 Finale aired tonight.

Beginning with a bang of blindingly white-clothed Top 10 performing “Glad You Came” by The Wanted. An otherwise subdued start, but it paved the way perfectly for The Band Perry performing “Done”. Pleasantly surprising was Janelle Arthur joining them onstage; her voice melding seamlessly with theirs. WOW!

To my great surprise, & pleasantly so, Frankie Valli performed with the Top 5 guys, doing a mashup of his hits (oldies but goodies!)…But this was AFTER we were treated to a video montage of the Top 5 guys’ explanation of the shows ‘rigging’ & sabotage methods. IN YER FACE, RUMORMONGERS+HATERS!

Meanwhile, when Mr Valli & the 5 were performing I found myself much like Keith Urban: bouncing in my chair rocking out & singing right along!

Next up was an angelic looking & sounding Mariah in a to-die-for white (tonights trend? Maybe?) Ball gown, singing a mashup of some of her hit songs. Did she have a plank taped to her back or was she just afraid of a skin-tight seam bursting or a boob-slip because I, for 1, found it irritating that she BARELY MOVED the whole time! Oh well.

A videotaped Kree & Candice presented their ‘mentors’ with 2 tickets each to the Finale, then a live Ryan presented keys to a Ford Fiesta to a weeping Candice’s Grandma, her mentor, & a stunned ‘brother’, Kree’s mentor. Aww!

Emilie Sande then performed a beautiful, subtly powerful song, joined by SURPRISE! Amber Holcomb. Lovelylovelylovely! I did, however, find myself thinking about tomorrows to-do’s. But definitely a lovely duet.

Uh-oh…..enter PSI! He and his omg-sexy crew of femme-fatale dancers hit the stage to perform his new song. Uhm, I expected some serious moves & a NEW song, not similar moves & refurbished-but-only-slightly-different song. SERIOUSLY?? The music was slightly bada$$ techno-hop …but the laser-show portion of his show, & those hawtDAYUM!-dancers were best of all. Sad.

But then I shouldn’t have expected much on a global show titled AMERICAN Idol from the guy who, at one time, promoted VILE hatred of America, Americans & our Troops, through his music videos ( http://www.mediaite.com/online/gangnam-style-singer-psys-vitriolic-anti-american-past-revealed-outrage-ensues/ ) . Why was he on the show again? Oops sorry…..getting back on track….

KEITH URBAN takes the stage performing his new single “Little Bit Of Everything” .

I thought that, with this being the finale n all, that his wife, Nicole Kidman, would’ve made an appearance. But, alas, she must be off working somewhere. Wait. She hadn’t shown up all season. Oh well. Her loss because her hubby was HOTHOTHOT!!

Candice Glover takes the stage….& the audience & the judges & our hearts as she begins singing “Inseperable”. SURPRISE! Out comes Jennifer Hudson & the roof almost blows off from the appreciative & excited crowd. Their voices melt together in perfection & leave me breathless!

Angie Miller takes the stage next, sitting at her beloved piano, and begins her duet with SURPRISE! Adam Lambert, singing “Titanium”. One word: WOW! She made sure that everyone knew that even though she got voted off that she IS a superstar & WILL NOT QUIT! But holllllllllld on, she isn’t done! Jessie J appears behind the judges & WHAM! They duet “Domino” & the crowd gets revved up again!

Good thing, too, because next up came a video montage of the Top 10 bustin’ on the judges. C’mon, guys? Nikki’s hair is awesome! And I agree with Janelle: Keith can totally rock t-shirts! HaHaHa!

Onstage next were Keith on lead Guitar, Randy on Bass, while Kree belted out Keith’s song “Where The Blacktop Ends”. Proving once & for all that she can sing virtually anything but Country is her forte’. DAMN she’s got chutzpah! I got goosebumps & was clapping right along the whole song. Yeeeeeehehaw!

The solemness begins as Ryan announces a special ‘goodbye’ video for Randy Jackson, as this is his last season with A.I.
The video begins with different breeds of ‘DAWG’s sitting around a conference table talking about the Idol icons impending departure (subtitled for human comprehension) , with “Bad Day” (the original ‘goodbye-voted-off montage’ music, for those who remember such things ha!) Playing in the background.
They adjourn to a computer & watch a video montage of OUR favorite DAWGs funniest, coolest, emotional, memorAble & quotable moments during all 12 seasons. *Wipes a tear…* Gonna miss ya, dawg!

I’m pretty sure A.I. made history with their next SURPRISE!, Aretha Franklin. Since she doesn’t like to fly, A.I. graciously set up a stage in NY for Aretha &, through the magic of technology, were able to meld her live performance AND vocals with the live performance & vocals of the Top 5 girls. They sang a mashup of some of Aretha’s hits, most notedly “RESPECT” & “You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman” . I was blown away; Aretha STILL gives me goosebumps!

Of course, each season, the Top 2 receive……..CARS! The viewers chose the winning car style for them this year, & they chose the Ford Fiesta! Candice & Kree both get their keys. Drive on, gals!

It’s getting close to announcement time, & the audience & viewers get treated to an extensive video montage of bits & pieces from the season, from the start to the present time.
The Season Tribute is set to Philip Phillips’ “Gone Gone Gone”. Brought back some hilarious memorable moments (someone velcro Keith to his chair, & PLEASE tell Steven to use a deeper shade of red lipstick next time?) !

Ut-ohhhhhh! RAISE THE ROOF! J-Lo & Pitbull in tha houuuuuuuse! Yes indeedy, the former A.I. judge returned to the show performing with Pitbull, “Live It Up”! She’s still incredibly hot & her Tina Turner-esque legs attest to those incredibly strong & uber dance moves. She was in a super-sexy white…(what IS with this trend tonight?)…. mini-skirt-w/super-short-boy-shorts bustier-style dress & she tore up the dance floor! Whew! Oh & yeah, the girl can still pack a vocal punch!

Kree & Candice take the stage to sing a duet. What an incredible performance by these 2 talented gals!
In black semi-sparkly outfits, both girls shined brightly as their vocals soared. There could not have been a more fitting end to a world-class super-stellar & bittersweet (love you, Randy!) Season. Stellar, stellar, stellar, EVERYONE giving our Top 2 a standing-O. Well deserved!

And then, after a brief commercial & receipt of the results, as Ryan opened the envelope, Candice whispers “I love you” to Kree (I could be wrong, but I’m pretty good at lip-reading). How awesome is that? Friends are forever, right?

And then……. CANDICE GLOVER is our new American Idol!

With that, tears streaming down her face, she manages to grace us once again with her voice as she sings “I Am Beautiful” (her, now, new single!) . As the song winds down, she is overcome by emotion & gets massive hugs by her fellow contestants as well as the judges.

Yes, Candice, you ARE. Beautiful.

And after millions of votes cast (which the figure was not announced by host Ryan Seacrest), it was Candice Glover who was left standing in open-mouthed shock ‘n’ awe because she had found out she was the next American Idol beating Kree Harrison.

Thursday night’s event saved the big reveal for the final few minutes, bloating with great performances from music artists and legends. This year’s starry list included everyone from Jennifer Lopez, Psy, Jennifer Hudson, The Band Perry to Jessie J, Adam Lambert and the legendary queen of soul Aretha Franklin.

The winner of American Idol Season 12 is… Candice Glover! Congratulations!

Kree Harrison opened up with Simon Fuller’s choice, “Angel” by Sarah McLachlan. Mind you, I think this is a beautiful song but I was a bit confused by his choosing it. Then again, at this point, 1 would expect she’d make it her own & blow it out of the park. A shame, then, that her performance lacked luster.

For me it was boring & bland. There’s no denying her voice, but I didn’t get into it.

Simon’s pick for Candice Glover was *gasp* an Adele song, “Chasing Pavements”. This vocal powerhouse has definite star-quality! There’s no denying this gal’s talent! Why, then, was I left just a wee bit disappointed?

I felt her performance lacked the showmanship we’ve grown to expect from her. No qualms with her vocals, she blows me away with perfect pitch-hitting (I hear 2 octaves @ once; something that just happens I guess w/most musicians who ‘have the ear’) & her smooth switches from gentle to power & back again, & how she works the audience & stage. But I don’t know, I felt something was missing. *sigh*

For her ‘potential single’, Kree chose “All Cried Out”. Loved the lyrics & loved her vocals! Absolutely beautiful!

Very pretty song which definitely showed off her voice! While I felt it could’ve been a tad more ‘catchy’, she absolutely showed us that she CAN BRING-IT! While it didn’t ‘grab’ me, I felt it was a much better performance than the 1st.

Oh, Candice Candice Candice, how I love thee! She turned up the heat for sure with her potential single “I Am Beautiful’. Yes, L’dear, YOU ARE!

The strong lyrics delivered with a voice that packed an emotional punch like no other, for me! Goosebumps, chills, d) all-the-above. Message received loud & clear!

Kree looked all of a star while rendering her favorite song of the season “Up To The Mountain” . Seriously?? Spectacular!

That voice, FINALLY showcased, helped her end her season with a definitive ‘bang!’ Those high notes gave my goosebumps goosebumps!

So rich, so powerful, positively stellar. A shame she couldn’t have hit her stride earlier, but there’s no denying this girls talent. She will be cutting an album soon, no doubt about it folks.

For her final performance, Candice chose her favorite song of the season “I Who Have Nothing”. GOOD GOD, her performance eclipsed the judges, & my, expectations. Not that they were low to begin with. Which is to say, this gal hit the stratosphere!

A veryveryvery strong performance that had it all: power, emotion, connection, showmanship, pitch & grab-you-&-dont-let-go!

Wham Bam GREAT JOB, MA’AM!

My pick for the win, for vocal ability, comfortably on-stage, confidence, vocal capability & originality with any song she sings, is Candice. With MAJOR kudos to Kree, too, a true artist, whose album I’ll definitely buy, win or lose.

All in all, the changes made to Idol’s format have pleased me. Some added to the show, some I felt were just annoying & only for time-fillers, but all together I’ve enjoyed Season 12.

What would make it perfect would be if my gal, my fave, Candice, wins, & if Randy were to stay (& yes, Ryan, his opinion still counts! lol) , but we shall see!

Keith thought it was incredible, and points out Candice’s mother crying in the audience.

Nicki calls out Candice’s legs, which we’re seeing for the first time on American Idol. Nicki loves that Candice completely owned that song and that performance.

Randy said this is one of the greatest singing competitions, and says that this was a winning performance.

Mariah says it doesn’t matter if we’d heard Candice sing this song every single week of the competition, since it’s all about her undeniable talent, which has surpassed what they ever could have expected when this season started. Mariah is confident she’ll be listening to Candice for years to come.

Kree picked the song she sang during Hollywood week which received praise across the board.
